This page contains information for the creation of an acrostic poem for Ninth and Tenth Grade English students. The theme of the acrostic is "Let's Go to the Movies." After a pre-reading activity on webwinder and scaffolding Lewis Carrol's acrostic from Through the Looking Glass, students will chose a familiar movie title or character to develop a poem around. Students are expected to be able to use my portaportal to access poetry, dictionary, thesaurus, rhymezone, and Readwritethink.org sites. After creating their projects and reviewing the checklist, each student will dramatically read their acrostic into the video cam for effect.
